What is WithContent?
WithContent is a read-only Google Docs extension for freelance writers. It automatically tracks how long you actually spend writing each piece and turns it into business numbers — your true hourly rate per client, which pieces run long, and when to change how you charge.
How does WithContent track my hourly rate?
It measures your active writing time and word count inside Google Docs as you work — there's no timer to start or stop. When you mark a piece delivered and tag the client, it divides what you were paid by the hours it really took, so your hourly rate is measured, not guessed. It sharpens with every piece you finish.
Is my writing private? What can WithContent see?
Yes, it's private. WithContent uses read-only Google access and reads only word counts and timestamps — never the text of your documents. Everything runs in your browser, nothing is sent to a server, and you can wipe your data at any time.
How is WithContent different from a time tracker or an all-in-one tool?
A time tracker needs you to remember to run it and only reports hours. All-in-one suites like Bonsai or Indy bundle invoicing and contracts but bury a manual timer no one runs.
